Partnering in the Gospel
One of the many opportunities for Northcliffe church to be missional is by partnering with other organizations that are focused on taking the gospel to the nations.  One of organizations that we work through is Operation Christmas Child.   Each year we make it a priority to pack shoe boxes filled with toys, clothes, water bottles, and much, much more in an effort to help missionaries share the gospel with children, families, villages, and communities.  Operation Christmas Child and Samaritan’s Purse will take the boxes we fill and use each one as an opportunity to share the gospel.
Mark Your Calendars!
This year we are going to have our second annual church wide packing party on October 9th, downstairs in the FLC running from 10:00 till we finish (probably around 12:00).
It is time to start collecting and getting ready.  Last year we put together almost 200 boxes at this packing party alone, and this year we would love to hit 300!
Here is how you can help!
We will be starting our collections on September 15 when Awana, Impact, and Wednesday Night Small Groups kick off for the fall.
  • Kids Ministry will be collecting toys for the boxes.  This can be small stuffed animals, jump ropes, dolls, yo-yo’s, small travel games, balls, deflated soccer balls with air pump,   coloring books, crayons, etc.
  • Student Ministry will be collecting clothing items.  This can include shirts, shorts, pants, flip flops, etc.  Remember it has to fit in a shoe box with all the other gifts.
  • Small Groups Ministry will be collecting school supplies.  This can include pens, pencils, colored pencils, crayons. highlighters, composition notebooks, erasers, pencil sharpeners, rulers, protractors, etc.
  • Women’s Ministry is preparing 300 hygiene kits including soap, wash clothes, toothbrushes, floss, hair brushes and accessories. Threads of Love (our sewing ministry) has prepared 300 zipper pouches for those school supplies that Small Groups will be collecting!
Any Items can be placed in bins in the main sanctuary on Sundays or at check-in for Awana and Impact.

Every year getting these shoeboxes around the world adds up to a lot of shipping costs.  Samaritan’s Purse suggests that a $9.00 donation accompany each box.  If you want to add another way to be involved making extra donations to cover shipping and delivery costs can be a huge help!
