40 Days of Love

For 40 Days...Northcliffe is going to learn to Love like Jesus.

What is your number one goal in life?

Everyone has one - a set of life values. It's what we base our decisions on. God tells us that our life values are to be based on love. In fact, Jesus once said that of all the commands in the Bible there are two which are most important. Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:36-40).

On February 14th the Northcliffe family will begin a six-week focus on those two commands. With conflict situations around us daily, we need to learn -- or be reminded -- of how to build healthy relationships - with God and one another! That's what the 40 Days of Love spiritual campaign is all about.

There are three primary ways we will encourage our church family to take part in this spiritual campaign together. One, ATTEND the Sunday morning services. Each Sunday morning, I will be bringing a message from 1 Corinthians 13. Two, READ the daily devotional. "The Relationship Principles of Jesus" written by Tom Holladay will be our daily devotional guide. For 40 days we will all being reading the same biblical, devotional thoughts. We will provide a free copy for those who will commit to these daily devotions. Three, PARTICIPATE in a 40 Days of Love small group.

For some, their Sunday Morning Life Group will want to become a 40 Days of Love small group for six Sundays. Some may wish to keep their regular Sunday Morning Life Group schedule. We will provide plenty of Sunday morning small groups as well as small groups that will meet throughout the week so that everyone who desires to be part of a 40 Days small group can be. The six small group sessions will be on video (DVD) and taught by Rick Warren.

We anticipate this series to bring a revival of love to our relationships! The more we learn how to love authentically, the more like Jesus we become.
