Meet Aaron Odom![]() Aaron and his wife PJ
Northcliffe’s New Worship Leader
By: Pastor Jerry Waugh
Here are just three reasons why I believe Aaron would be a great addition to our Northcliffe family. 1. Aaron seems to be a good match with our music ministry and church family. Aaron has sung, led our choir, and led worship for five weeks now. The feedback we have received thus far has been overwhelmingly positive. Here are just a few samples of the written comments you shared with me: “I pray that our church will get Aaron Odom to be our Minister of Music. He is a perfect fit to our church family.” “Our music ministry needs Aaron Odom.” “My husband and I wanted to let you know how pleased we are with the praise and worship and music in general under the leadership of Aaron Odom! We would love to see him stay and be with us permanently!” “In the past few weeks, we have just felt a sense that Aaron is God's servant for leading our music ministry. Music always has been such an important part of our worship, both corporate and private. We just wanted to express to you our thoughts.” “I have really enjoyed the last several weeks of worship. My wife and I have just been able to worship from the time we arrive and leave feeling closer to God. There is a special worship feeling and if Aaron is being used by God to allow this, then to God be the Glory!” “Thought you would like some input on Aaron - awesome. People will come to hear him sing and hear your message and we will need a bigger church! Praise God!” “I hope that Aaron and P.J. will very soon become a permanent part of Northcliffe's family. I see great improvements ahead for our future.” 2. Aaron has the giftedness to grow Northcliffe’s music ministry. Aaron has a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from Louisiana State University. Additionally, he has a Master’s of Vocal Performance from Manhattan School of Music in New York, and a Certificate of Completion for Advanced Musical Studies from England. But Aaron also has years of music experience. He has been a guest artist and worship leader for keynote speakers such as Jerry Falwell, John Hagee, David Platt, and David Uth. Aaron has also been a featured guest artist on Bill Gaither’s Homecoming Concert series. He has even written and recorded praise and worship songs. His primary experience in playing instruments is the acoustic guitar, keyboard, and percussion. 3. Aaron has a caring heart, big vision, and a passion for doing his best for God. Here was Aaron’s reply to the possibility of being called to Northcliffe: “PJ and I are excited about proceeding toward a call to come to Northcliffe. We couldn't be more ready to get there and help in any way. We see that you and Marcia have patiently seen the Lord build a strong foundation there at Northcliffe and we believe that God’s work deserves everything that we have to give. I see that you believe God can do greater things than we ever have imagined at Northcliffe. I want to invest my life helping someone who is passionate and driven to fulfill the vision and mission that God has given us. With God's help, I would like to come and build a dynamic, vibrant music ministry there.” On a personal note, Aaron is age 34. He and PJ have been married almost 8 years. They have a five year old son, named Ramsey. And although this last fact has nothing to do with essential information, his favorite candy bar is Butterfinger. Aaron states his ministry objective is "to serve my pastor and church congregation by helping facilitate an exciting musical and visual atmosphere that inspires biblical worship. To minister to the needs of the people. To continue to grow both spiritually and professionally in order to offer my best to the Lord. To help those with clear gifts in music, to find a place of service in the local church and other effective ministry venues. To be faithful to the Holy Spirit as I lead with humility, truth, and grace to everyone that God places in my path."
I will be praying with you that we will follow the Lord’s direction on July 11 and if it be His will, the Odom family will become a part of the Northcliffe family. Check out this video of Aaron singing. |
