Life Groups

Be Connected!

By design, we all need personal relationships, community, and a sense of belonging.
At Northcliffe we believe this is best accomplished by being a part of a Life Group.

What is a Life Group?

Some churches call their group ministry “Sunday School” or “Bible Fellowship Group.” Many churches vary on the name, purpose, and function of their group ministry. Northcliffe chooses the name Life Group to emphasize its ministry purpose of people doing life together.

The Purpose of Life Groups:
Life Groups exist to do life together by connecting people with God, friends, and others through small groups.

Like a tripod or a three-legged stool, a Life Group engages in three equally crucial connecting functions:

1.       Connecting with God through Bible study and personal application
          (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

2.       Connecting with friends through caring for each other
          (Galatians 6:2)

3.       Connecting with others through reaching people not yet in the group
          (Matthew 22:39)

What Life Groups are like:

Doing life together is being like family. While each Life Group is as unique as the individual group members, all Life Groups share 10 common characteristics:

o   Friendly
o   Accepting (like Jesus)
o   Open to newcomers
o   Belonging
o   Caring
o   Supporting
o   Safe sharing
o   Fun
o   Food/Refreshment
o   Inviting others

On Campus Life Groups meet on Sundays (9:00 A.M. and 10:30 A.M.), for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

A typical Life Group session consists of:

          Refreshment and brief fellowship
          Welcome/Ice breaker/Announcement
          Prayer/Bible study/Discussion
          Sharing praise and prayer needs
